Well, that’s the reality of Reddit.

Despite its popularity and influence, the vast majority of marketers continue to overlook, avoid, and fail to establish a presence on the platform.

Some might argue that’s for good reason. After all, Reddit is notorious for being a difficult platform for marketing success. It takes time and dedication to learn the platform's unwritten rules and genuinely become a part of the community so you can engage your audience and have honest and meaningful interactions.

And those aren’t just quick visits, the average user spends over 20 minutes per day on the platform. If they’ve been a user for over 7 years, that number jumps to a staggering 45 minutes per day.

In many cases, Reddit is the only social media platform that you have access to these users on. Up to 75% of Reddit users aren't active on other social channels.

Plus, these users fit the right demographics for many marketers. 61% are between 18-49 years old, and 73% have a college degree or have completed some college. So, broadly speaking, they’re the correct type of buyers for many types of B2B transactions.

Add to that the fact that Reddit has 100,000+ active communities, all focused on specific topics, and targeting your ICP becomes even simpler.

However, perhaps the most attractive stat is that surveys have found that 75% of users find Reddit a trustworthy source for making purchasing decisions.

So, Reddit users are open to marketing. It just has to be the correct type of marketing for the platform. Anything inauthentic or too ‘salesy’ isn’t going to fly.

Reddit’s future is bright.

Finding success on Reddit can take time and trial and error, but the good news is that it will be time well spent in the long run. We’re bullish on the platform.

They recently went public and cut a $60M deal with Google to give them real-time access to Reddit’s content to train future AI models.

Reddit is already important when it comes to search marketing. Reddit threads have been prominently displayed in Google search results for years because they’re such a trusted source.

Many users even go so far as to add “reddit” to the end of their search query. Meaning it’s common to see the term “reddit” as a choice in Google’s autocomplete options.

And even if the searcher doesn’t type “reddit” in their query, it’s still extremely common to see Reddit results in the #1 slot of search results or the dedicated ‘Discussions and Forums’ section.

After their $60M investment, we expect Google to push Reddit results even more than they already are. This means that if you get your content into these slots, it could be very powerful for your SEO efforts and brand.

If your company has something to say and wants to drive genuine and meaningful connections with your audience, you should be saying “yes” to Reddit!
