Happy Friday, and welcome back to Marketing Qualified. Let’s get rolling with today's topics!

  • To get results no one else is getting, do what no one else is doing. Why creativity is worth the hard work.

  • In case you forgot. Go make this change to your website.

🧠 To get results no one else is getting, do what no one else is doing.

Marketing is hard.

It’s hard to get people to pay attention. It’s hard to create a compelling message. It’s hard to drive results.

In marketing, hard work is unavoidable.

But it matters what type of hard work you choose to tackle.

Being creative is hard, but it’s the type of hard work you should spend your time on.

Because something that stands out, even if it's just a little, gets more attention and can lead to better/quicker results.

Look around at what the others in your industry are doing and then figure out how to do something different.

If all your competitors are in a bidding war for the top localized terms on Google, be the company that distributes 500 door hangers to houses and gets 10 leads overnight.

Which of these flyers do you think is more likely to work?

The one on the right, duh! Why? Because it’s the one people will actually notice — and probably think about the next few times they see a cat.

Another example of creativity winning…

Take the College Football National Championship that happened earlier this week.

Who do you think captured more attention and engagement with their brand — the companies who paid to have their logos printed in a few places across the stadium or HubSpot, who created a real-life ‘Where’s Waldo’ game?

Our money is on HubSpot.

Think outside the box. Get creative. It's not easy. But it’s the type of hard work that will pay off.

A friendly reminder to all the marketers out there… change your website’s footer from

© Your Company 2023

to

© Your Company 2024

We see this issue all the time.

It might seem small, but even the small things matter. Having a past year in your site’s footer makes your content look outdated and might make visitors think your company lacks attention to detail.

Not the impression you want to leave them with if you’re trying to convince them to buy from you!

The further into the year we get, the worse this mistake comes across.

Go check if yours is up to date right now.

😂 Marketing meme of the week.
