❌ Don’t make this CTA mistake.
We audit marketing assets for a lot of companies, and there’s one mistake we find again and again. We see it on websites, social posts, emails, and even print assets.
But the good news is, it’s fast and simple to fix!
So what’s the mistake? It’s having too many calls to action.
Giving several CTAs confuses customers. They don’t know what direction to move in.
Imagine trying to park your car and see a sign like this:
Are you going to sit there and try to decipher it? Or are you going to drive away and find an open space around the block?
The same principle applies to your marketing assets. If you overwhelm people with options, they’re just going to leave.
Go audit your marketing assets and look for this mistake.
If you see it, here’s how you fix it:
Rank your CTAs in order of importance
Pick what’s most important (Note: only having one CTA is best, but occasionally you can get away with two)
Edit your asset so that all roads lead to the CTA(s) you chose.
Giving people clear and concise instructions increases the chance they will follow them.
😂 Marketing meme of the week.
